Mountain-style barley stew with smoked meat
Preparation process

Peel the potatoes and carrots and cut them into smaller pieces.

Trim any fatty parts from the meat and also cut it into smaller pieces.

Place all ingredients, except the beans, flour, and tomato concentrate, into a pot and cover with water.

Cover, bring to a boil, and then simmer on low heat for about one hour.

After that, add the beans and tomato concentrate, and thicken with flour if desired. Cook for another 5–10 minutes, then season with salt and spices to taste.

If the stew becomes too thick, thin it with water. Serve.
